【OICA】Important Notice on Overstay and Visa Regulations

According to Article 36 of the Immigration Act, all foreign students must ensure that their stay or residence permits are extended before the expiration date.

If you overstay for more than 30 days, you cannot apply for any visa or residence extension within Taiwan. You must first complete necessary procedures with the National Immigration Agency, leave Taiwan within the assigned deadline, and apply for a new visa at an overseas ROC embassy or mission before re-entering Taiwan. Please check your ARC validity regularly and apply for an extension in advance to avoid penalties, loss of legal residency, or interruption of your studies.
